Connect Unitag to ChatGPT
ChatGPT reaches outside services through connectors. Unitag is not in the built-in list, so you add it yourself as a custom connector — one URL and the Unitag client ID, then the Unitag sign-in you already use.
Before you start
A Unitag account you can sign in to. The assistant will act with that account's permissions.
A ChatGPT plan that allows custom connectors. They are not available on the free plan, and on a Business or Enterprise workspace an administrator may have to add the connector for everyone rather than each person adding their own.
The connector address and the Unitag client ID, which you can copy from the boxes below.

Add the connector
Open ChatGPT in a browser and go to Settings, then Connectors.
Choose the option to add your own connector — it is labelled Create or Add custom connector depending on your plan.
Name it Unitag, so it is recognisable in the tools list later.
Paste the connector address into the MCP server URL field.
Leave the authentication set to OAuth, and paste the Unitag client ID into the OAuth Client ID field — it may sit under the advanced settings. Leave the client secret empty; there is no API key to fill in.
Confirm. ChatGPT opens the Unitag sign-in page: log in as usual and approve the access it asks for.
The connector then shows as connected in the same list, with the Unitag account it is signed in as.
Use it in a conversation
Start a new chat and turn Unitag on from the tools menu beside the message box. ChatGPT will use it when a question needs it, and tell you when it does.
The first time, ask for something you can check by eye — the number of QR codes in a campaign, or the destination of a code you know. It is worth seeing the answer land before you ask it to change anything.
Letting it make changes
Asking ChatGPT to create or edit something works the same way as asking it to read: you describe what you want and it proposes the action. Anything that writes to your account is shown to you for approval first — read the destination URL and the name in the proposal, not just the sentence above it.
Changes made this way are real and immediate. They appear in your activity logs under your own account, and they are undone the same way any other change is.
If it does not work
No option to add a connector. The setting is not on the free plan, and a workspace administrator can switch it off. On Business and Enterprise, ask whoever administers the workspace.
The sign-in window closes without connecting. A pop-up blocker is the usual cause. Allow pop-ups for ChatGPT and add the connector again.
It answers from memory rather than from Unitag. Check that Unitag is switched on in the tools menu for that conversation, then say which account or campaign you mean — a question with nothing to look up gets answered without looking anything up.
It says it cannot see something. The connector has your permissions. If the data is in a sub-organisation your account cannot reach, the assistant cannot reach it either.
The sign-in page reports an unknown or invalid client. The client ID is missing or mistyped. Remove the connector and add it again, pasting the client ID from this page.
