Unitag is a professional QR Code platform founded in France in 2013, EU-hosted and backed by a French-English team. This is an honest comparison with Flowcode — a US tool that built its reputation on design and short-cycle campaigns. If you're using Flowcode and starting to wonder whether you've been getting full value from it, or simply want to know what Unitag does differently, you're in the right place.
You probably like the look of your Flowcode QR Codes. That's a genuine strength of the product. But if you've ever wanted to change the destination of an already-printed code, compare the performance of two different media scan by scan, or simply add codes without watching your subscription counter — this page is for you.

Unitag is a QR Code platform founded in 2013 in Toulouse. The product was built around one simple idea: a printed QR Code must be able to evolve after printing. Change your landing page, promotion, or destination depending on the season — the code printed on your poster, packaging, or POS display stays the same. Every scan is tracked individually: you know which code, on which medium, generated how many scans, at what time, from which device. Codes are unlimited in volume. The visual editor lets you customise colours, shapes, logos, and frames — branded codes that work in all reading conditions. And for teams with codes on packaging or regulatory constraints, Unitag is also GS1-certified and EU-hosted.
Flowcode built its reputation on QR Code design and fast setup. The platform is built for the campaign lifecycle: design, distribution, reading aggregate stats, archiving. The graphic editor is polished and ready-to-use templates are a genuine strength for teams that want to move quickly. Flowpage — the link-in-bio landing page generator — completes the offering for creators and influencers. That said, a code's destination cannot be changed after creation, analytics remain aggregated, and the volume of dynamic codes is capped by tier.
The real question isn't "which looks better". It's: do you want a code that ends with the campaign, or a code that keeps working for you after it's printed?
Comparing Flowcode Pro ($15/month) and Flowcode Business ($40/month) against Unitag Gold (£49/month). The closest equivalent at the mid-market to enterprise transition.

Public pricing, April 2026. Flowcode prices from flowcode.com (USD). Unitag bills EU clients in euros.

The Flowcode pricing cliff: Flowcode Pro costs $15/month for 50 dynamic codes. If you need 51, you jump to Business at $40/month — nearly three times the price for one extra code. Beyond 500 codes, it's Enterprise on request. With Unitag Gold at £49/month: unlimited dynamic codes, whatever your volume. The more codes you create, the clearer Unitag's economic advantage becomes.
This is the question many Flowcode users ask themselves after a year or two of use: is there something better, without losing codes that look great? The answer is yes — and the line between the two products is simpler than it might seem.
Choose Unitag if…
You've ever wanted to change the destination of a printed code — on a poster, flyer, or packaging — without having to reprint everything.
You want to know precisely which medium was scanned the most, at what time, and by whom, so you can decide where to focus your next print budgets.
Your code volume exceeds or risks exceeding 50 active codes, and you don't want to triple your bill for more.
You work in retail, events, or field marketing, and want to be alerted if a live code stops working — before your customers notice.
You have codes on packaging or regulatory constraints requiring GS1 Digital Link, EU data residency, or multi-tenant governance.
Choose Flowcode if…
Your needs are limited to a few dozen codes per campaign, with a short shelf life and a fixed destination from the start.
Flowpage — the link-in-bio landing page generator — is central to your workflow and you want an integrated creator solution.
You're a solo user, creator, or small team, and fast onboarding and a low entry price are your current priorities.
You don't need GS1 Digital Link, EU data residency, or the ability to edit your codes after creation.
Design is your priority and fast setup matters more than analytics depth.
Migrating from Flowcode, step by step.
Flowcode QR Codes resolve via destination URLs you control. Atlas imports them in bulk; already-printed codes keep working while new print runs use codes issued by Unitag. The customer success team handles the mapping. Allow two to three weeks.

No. Flowcode does not issue GS1 Digital Link URIs and does not operate a GS1-certified resolver as of April 2026. If you have codes on packaging or in distribution, GS1 Digital Link is the standard required by European retailers from 2027. Unitag is GS1-certified and offers the full Unitag Digital Link range, with 200 GTINs included from the Gold subscription.
Flowcode's Pro tier at $15/month covers 50 dynamic codes with aggregated analytics. That's a different product from what Unitag sells at £49/month — unlimited codes, scan-by-scan tracking, post-print editing, bulk generation, and API included. But more importantly: if you need 51 codes on Flowcode, you jump straight to $40/month. On Unitag, the 51st code is included in your subscription.
Flowpage is a link-in-bio landing page tool, in the same category as Linktree. It's a genuine Flowcode strength for creators and influencers who want a single link aggregating multiple destinations. Unitag doesn't compete in that space and it's only fair to say so — if Flowpage is central to your workflow, Flowcode or Linktree remains the better choice. Unitag QR Codes point to the URL of your choice, including a Flowpage or any other link-in-bio tool hosted elsewhere.
Yes. Unitag's visual editor covers the same surface as Flowcode's: brand colours, module and eye shapes, logo integration, custom frames, adjustable error correction, and a live dynamic preview. You create codes that match your brand identity and are readable in all media and lighting conditions. Where Flowcode may have an edge is its ready-to-use templates — useful for moving very quickly. Where Unitag takes over is everything that happens after the scan: individual analytics, editable redirects, unlimited codes.
Flowcode is a US company with infrastructure hosted in the United States. For EU clients, standard cross-border data transfer mechanisms apply. Unitag has its registered office in the UK, with a French operating company, is EU-hosted by default, and offers contractual EU data residency on the Diamond subscription.
Two to three weeks for most accounts — and your existing codes keep working throughout the transition. Flowcode QR Codes resolve via destination URLs you control: you redirect those URLs to Unitag progressively, or replace codes at the next print run. Atlas imports your destinations in bulk; the customer success team handles the mapping.
